17 Since many people in the assembly had not sanctified themselves, the Levites had to slaughter the Passover lambs for them to the Lord.[a] 18 For a large number of people, mainly from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, but even so they ate the Passover contrary to what was prescribed.
